Doctoral Studies Centers

The University of Chouaïb Doukkali has two (2) Doctoral Studies Centers:

  • The Science and Technology Doctoral Studies Center at the faculty of Sciences
  • The Doctoral Studies Center of Letters, Humanities and Social Sciences at the Faculty of Letters.

Structure of the DSC

The DSC is headed by a director appointed by the President of the University on the proposal of the Dean and under the supervision of a council composed of the representatives of the adhering structures.

Its mission

To ensure the overall monitoring of doctoral theses in accordance with the guidelines of the Theses Charter which defines the commitments of the doctoral student, their thesis director, the director of the DSC and the head of the hosting body of the doctoral student.

The two DSCs of the UCD meet regularly at the Doctoral School, moderated by the Vice-President of the University in charge of Scientific Research, Cooperation and Partnership.

The School plays a unifying and coordinating role in the various activities of the two DSCs.

It also has a role of training doctoral students in cross-cutting areas (Communication, pedagogy, Colloquiums, preparation for professional insertion …).

It provides an interface with other doctoral schools or DSCs of other university partners.

In some cases, the thesis defense may require a fourth registration. Any duly justified application for registration beyond the fourth year is subject to special examination and monitoring.

N.B. The specific modalities (documents, calendar, links…) are posted online at each university entry.

Request for Defense

The request for the defense of each doctoral student is reviewed by the members of DSC council.

Candidates are informed through their thesis director of the follow-up to their file.

In preparation for this review and no later than one week before the date of the DSC council meeting, and 8 weeks prior to the expected defense date, the doctoral student must complete and return to the person in charge of his/her laboratory the following documents:
